

Revitone is used in the treatment of iron deficiency anaemia either as a result of blood loss or iron deficient diet. It can also be used for loss of appetite.
DOSAGE/METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION/ THE EXPOSED(TARGETED POPULATION)
REVITONE is a liquid preparation to be taken orally.
ADULT: two to three teaspoonfuls (5ml) to be taken three times daily with or after meals.
CHILDREN: half the adult dose or as directed by the physician.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
- Iron salts should not be given to patients receiving repeated blood
- Do NOT take more than the recommended dose without checking with your
- Do not take large doses of vitamins (mega doses or megavitamin therapy) while you use REVITONE unless your doctor tells you to.
- REVITONE has iron in it. Before you start any new medicine, check the label to see if it has iron in it too. If it does or if you are not sure, check with your doctor or pharmacist.
- REVITONE may cause darkened or green stools. This is normal and not a cause for concern.
PREGNANCY/ LACTATION
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. Generally, iron is considered safe for use during pregnancy and is regularly prescribed as a component of prenatal vitamin/mineral supplements (usually as the sulfate salt).
UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS
Adverse reactions are rare, following therapeutic doses of water soluble multivitamin preparation. However, large doses of iron salts may have irritant and corrosive effect on the gastro-intestinal tract. it can have a negative impact on the heart and blood (dehydration, low blood pressure, fast and weak pulse, shock), lungs, liver, gastrointestinal system (diarrhea, nausea, vomiting blood), nervous system (chills, dizziness, coma, convulsions, headache), and skin (flushing, loss of color, bluish-colored lips and fingernails)
