

Hexedene Active Mouthwash contains Chlorhexidine Digluconate 0.2% w/v which is an antimicrobial agent. It is used to help treat and prevent gingivitis (sore or bleeding gums), gum ulceration, oral thrush, halitosis (bad smelling breath) and mouth sores. Also, it is used in the prevention of dental plaque formation as well as for maintaining oral hygiene.
It is a broad spectrum oral biocide that is effective against gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacteria, fungi, yeasts, viruses and some protozoa.
HOW TO USE HEXEDENE ACTIVE MOUTHWASH
Adults and children aged 12 years and above:
- Use twice a day, measure 10ml in the cap provided.
- Rinse mouth thoroughly and gargle undiluted for about a minute and then spit out.
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS OF HEXEDENE ACTIVE MOUTHWASH
Like all medicines Hexedene Active can have side effects, although these do not affect everyone.
- Side effects include:
- Taste change or burning sensation on the tongue when first used.
- Discoloration of the tongue and teeth.
The above effects are not permanent, however, stop use and consult a doctor if allergic reactions occur.
WARNINGS
- For oral use only, do not swallow.
- Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Chlorhexidine Digluconate.
- Ask your dentist or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine if you are pregnant, might be pregnant or breastfeeding.
